About Jackson Mississippi Water Crisis

Excessive rainfall caused the Pearl River, which runs through Jackson, to overflow. The storm took out the city’s main water-treatment plant, where pumps had already been failing causing a severe drop in water pressure throughout Jackson that left many in the city without sufficient water for activities of daily living, including homes, businesses, schools and first responders. The majority of Jackson’s 180,000 residents were affected.

While water pressure has been restored, city’s residents are still without water to drink, bathe or even flush toilets.

Our Sweet Compassion Campaign for Jackson seeks to provide the vulnerable with bottled water as temporary relief while the water systems are being restored.
