About The Competition

Music for Water is a global campaign that streams water and music together, advancing the mission of JB Dondolo, Inc. to break barriers to clean water, sanitation, and hygiene for underserved communities.

The campaign takes the form of an annual song competition, open to all who wish to submit original “water songs.” Participants gain visibility and promotion, with opportunities for their music to reach tens of thousands of listeners across the U.S. and internationally. A panel of five expert judges from the music industry—or closely connected to it—will select the top four songs. From these, the JB Dondolo Board will award one as the official JB Dondolo “Song of the Year.”

What makes Music for Water unique is its charitable purpose. It harnesses music—the world’s universal language—to raise awareness of the critical importance of clean water while uplifting the voices of women, girls, and underserved communities too often left unheard. Each artist’s contribution becomes a powerful act of advocacy, linking creativity with global impact.

Funds raised through the competition directly support JB Dondolo’s water projects and amplify the campaign’s message, shining a spotlight on humanitarian work worldwide. This initiative is more than music—it is a Call-to-Action to humanity to recognize clean water as a fundamental human right.

This year, the top four winners will receive numerous benefits including:

1) a distribution deal through JB Dondolo International Records (JBDIR) for your individual songs

2) an opportunity to record a water song together (see example of 2025 song release “We Are The Leaders For Clean Water”)

3) a distribution deal through JB Dondolo International Records (JBDIR) for the group/combined song.

4) Extensive publicity to push the music for water to major music platforms and major media outlets.

5)  honored at the annual Voices for Water Awards, where your songs will be showcased globally.
