Liquid Barrier/Voices Of Africa for FutureReady NYC

JB Dondolo, in collaboration with Liquid Barrier/Voices Of Africa, is excited to announce its participation in a seven-week FutureReady NYC Workforce Challenge with Clearview High School. Twenty-five scholars from the Queens, New York City school will embark on a journey to learn how data science intersects with access and availability to clean water and water management.

Together, our organizations can create a powerful impact.”

The collaborative efforts between JB Dondolo and Liquid Barriers/Voices Of Africa will involve supporting J.B. Dondolo’s mission to partner with science institutions to design and implement clean water solutions for underserved communities across the US and Africa. 

JB Dondolo mentors involved in the NYC Workforce Challenge are Ms. Kanti Suresh Shetty, Ms. Kenya Mobley, and Sai Shetty. Liquid Barriers/Voices Of Africa mentors include CEO Frank Bryant, Portia Maluleke, and Elbethel Alemaw.

“Over the past few years, global clean water access and availability have become a personal concern of mine,” commented Frank Bryant. “I am delighted to collaborate with Lumbie and her team to deepen our understanding of water challenges and implement effective solutions.”

 

The NYC Student Workplace Data Science Challenge kicked off on April 9th and ends with final project presentations on May 24th. Students will showcase what they have learned to a panel of internal and external stakeholders, who will provide feedback to support their data science journey. Their final revisions will be deliverables applicable towards JB Dondolo projects.

In addition to its involvement in the FutureReady NYC Workforce Challenge, JB Dondolo provides other opportunities to engage and educate youth. The Water Impact Internship Programme (TWIIP), a global program designed to cultivate leadership skills in aspiring young entrepreneurs and instill the importance of community involvement. Through TWIIP, JB Dondolo empowers youth to become leaders and spread awareness of critical JB Dondolo initiatives within their communities, fostering the next generation of advocates.
