About Sweet Compassion

We are living in unprecedented times. Times like these remind us of the values that are necessary to persist and persevere through such challenges. Chief among these values are empathy and compassion. With these attributes in minds, JB Dondolo along with its youth ambassadors “2 Brothers in a Kitchen” and partners “Vi Bella”, “Fashion Community Foundation” and “Disinfect & Shield” are launching the “Sweet Compassion Campaign,” which seeks to serve underserved communities across the nation.

The purpose of the Sweet Compassion Campaign is to give back to our local communities and support those who are uplifting the vulnerable. These heroes may be school teachers, day care providers, or women’s shelters among the many who are helping make our towns and cities a better place for all. As a way of saying “thanks” to these heroes, JB Dondolo together with its youth ambassadors 2 Brothers in a Kitchen, Disinfect & Shield, and Vi Bella, are providing cookies, face masks, and hand sanitizers as a small token for the immeasurable sacrifice that these organizations are making.

JB Dondolo And I Support The Girls Come Together For Women’s History Month!

On March 8th for International Women’s Day, JB Dondolo will be donating face masks (thanks to partners Vi Bella and Fashion Community Foundation) and hand sanitizers (thanks to our partner Disinfect & Shield) to I Support the Girls Houston who is working with underserved women and girls affected by the Texas winter storm.

In a report done by the University of Houston Institute for Research on Women, Gender & Sexuality (IRWGS), it was found that the quality of life gap between men and women were significant on multiple fronts in Harris County. For example, women’s poverty rate (15.3%) was nearly 50% higher than the male poverty rate (10.4%). The gender gap is higher than observed nationally and even within the state of Texas. Wage gap data for men and women by race/ethnicity in Harris County is considerably greater than the national wage gap, and women are more likely to be raising children alone and living at or below the poverty compared to men. It was noted that the LGBTQIA+ community is also incompletely documented due to persistent social risk.
